Don’t stress over what’s considered “standard.” If Thursday is the best time to host the party at your favourite restaurant, throw your party on a Thursday. What’s worse – a few people not making it, or a party in a venue you hate (just to keep others happy)?
Trust your vendors. Get them to share their knowledge and advice. It is part of what you are paying them for.
Shrug Off Mishaps. Don’t sweat it when things go awry. Avoid letting little glitched obscure the big picture. At the end of the day, those things don’t matter.
Embrace the Rain. It may keep you indoors, or under canvas, but rain can make an event more intimate and cozy, as it keeps everyone together.
Mud… If your event tent has a grass floor, things have potential to get a little messy. Get down and dirty, roll up your pants and kick off your heels. Embrace the child within, when rolling around in mud was a lot of fun. You were never going to wear that dress again, anyway.
